- Affordable Housing & Inclusive Growth Supporting gentle density solutions like duplexes and townhomes, protecting existing affordable units, and partnering with organizations to make housing attainable without displacing families or changing our neighbourhood’s character.
- Maximum Heat Bylaw & Tenant Protections Advocating for a maximum heat bylaw to ensure tenants have safe, comfortable housing year-round and implementing rent controls to protect low and middle income tenants.
- A Councillor Who Listens & Acts Committing to regular town halls, transparent sharing of council votes, and empowering residents to shape budget priorities through participatory tools.
- Transit & LRT Readiness Advocating for better bus routes, increased weekend service, and public education so Ward 8 residents can confidently connect with the upcoming LRT and reduce car dependency.
- Road Safety & Traffic Calming Tackling speeding and truck traffic in residential areas with expanded speed humps, traffic-calming zones, and improved intersections like Claremont Access to protect families and seniors.
- Aging Infrastructure & Safer Streets Championing complete-streets upgrades with sidewalks, bike lanes, and accessibility improvements on Upper James, Fennell, and Rymal Road; because safer, walkable neighbourhoods improve quality of life for all ages.
- Stronger Union Protections & Workers’ Rights Supporting local unions and workers by fighting for fair wages, safe workplaces, and the right to organize; building a stronger economy that works for all.
- Community Safety & Stronger Partnerships Working closely with Hamilton Police and community organizations to reduce crime, increase community engagement, and support intervention programs that keep our neighbourhoods safe and welcoming.
- Climate Action & Green Initiatives Fighting for expanded tree planting, city fleet electrification, and green development policies that make Ward 8 a leader in sustainability and resilience.
- Parks, Trails & Recreation for All Ensuring equitable access to splash pads, trail connectivity along the mountain brow, and safe, accessible green spaces where kids, families, and seniors can gather and thrive.
- Arts, Music & Culture Backing local artists, music festivals, and grassroots cultural groups with sustainable funding, inclusive event spaces, and ward-level arts grants that reflect the vibrancy of our communities.
- Healthcare Supports & Education Resources Championing better local healthcare access, mental health supports, and educational programs that empower families, youth, and seniors to thrive.
